Since it’s incorporation in 1997, Tritel Services (Pvt) Limited has maintained the dominant status in Public Telephony. Tritel’s 5000 strong public phone terminals provide an island-wide reach and cater to an estimated Four Million regular users a month, generating over Ten Million call minutes. Tritel’s priority focus on rural communities has immensely contributed to lessening the yawning gap in large sectors of our society where access to communication facilities and information still remain an unfulfilled demand. Moreover, it has served as a catalyst of socio-economic transformation in remote parts of Sri Lanka and brought about qualitative improvement in life styles of rural folk. The ambitious expansion programme currently under implementation is expected to witness the deployment of 40,000 additional phone terminals through out the country to bring affordable communication to the doorsteps. |
